FOR EDUCATORS
|
We are so glad your class decided to participate in Simply Equal Education's SEE me Read read-a-thon this year!
Simply Equal Education is a registered non-profit organization working to help young people in the United States understand that they can play an active role in social change and that they are never too young to make a difference in the world that they live in! Furthermore, we want youth in the United States to have a way to feel connected to their peers around the world. The SEE Me Read kit includes a pledge sheet for the students to ask for pledges, a letter for parents/guardians describing the read-a-thon and what SEE is. You will also find a flyer that can be shared with the students to explain more about the event and to share with fellow educators who may want to participate as well. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make this experience better for you. All money raised will be split between the library and with Simply Equal Education . Simply Equal Education works to help youth in the United States understand that they can be active agents of social change and make sure kids around the world have the tools they need to succeed in school. All participants in the SEE Me Read summer reading program will be entered to win a Kindle! In addition to this read-a-thon, Simply Equal Education hosts other events including classroom presentations on what it would be like to go to school in West Africa, and helps students run school supply drives to be sent to schools in Equatorial Guinea. If you are interested in participating in any of our other programs please let us know. Thank you for helping to change the education statistics around the world! If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] or through our website. We look forward to working with you. |
